Taichi+Hikari Promt 03: Hugs

"It's been a while since I've carried you like this, Hikari." Taichi said as he let out an amused chuckle.

"I'm sorry I made you come pick me up while you were still in class, onii-chan..." Hikari's lips found themselves tugged downwards - her voice laced with a hint of regret.

She felt his grip tighten as he replied with an almost melancholic tone resonating through the empty alley that he was carrying her in, "Nah, don't worry about it. To be honest I kind of missed this; you needing me. Ever since I entered college and you in high school, well... Let's just say we're not as close as we used to be."

Hikari tightly hugged her brother and fondly remembered their adventures together when they were no more than children. Wanting to lighten the mood she said, "Still, I must be heavy!"

Taichi stopped walking so abruptly that Hikari thought she may have said something wrong until, that is, he let out the loud and boyish laughter that Hikari found she missed so much in the past few years since they've drifted apart from each other.

"Uhm... Onii-chan?"

He breathed out an air of pure happiness and resumed walking - all the while longing to recover their lost friendship. "I honestly didn't think you'd be the type to worry about those things." Glancing behind with a roguish smile plastered on his handsome face, "Heavy would be Yamato when he's totally drunk and being a jackass dead-weight!"

Then they were laughing so hard to the point that Hikari was trying desperately to hold on to her brother for dear life. When his laughter dissolved into smaller chuckles he noticed her hands on his head and chided on her playfully.

"Hey, you're messing up my hair!"

So yeah, that's what I had in mind when I made this little artwork. Hope you guys like it.

Uhm since I didn't know how to make the hugging scene, I copied the pose from a page in Uwasa no Midori-kun. Sorry, don't hate me! *hides in a corner* Everything else was all me though! (Actually very proud of myself right now for finishing it with complete patience )

I'm not a TaichixHikari Supporter per se, but I do adore their relationship. I especially love how sweet Taichi is to Hikari and thought maybe I should do something like that for a summer prompt. Oddly enough, this situation sort of happened to me very recently.

Still, gotta love Taichi-sempai... Those who fave and give a nice little comment will get lots of hugs from me (Is it just me or do they look like Older Haru and Older Tsuna in KHR as well?)
